Fourth Sunday of Advent

19th December 2022 By gemawright

Peace

We listen to your word

as it whispers in our hearts:

“Do not be afraid.”

Come, Lord, prince of peace.

Grant us the courage

to build peace in our homes,

our local community

and our world.

Come, Lord, prince of peace.

Lead us in your ways,

as together we make a change

and share your peace with all.

Come, Lord, prince of peace.

World Youth Fun Day 2022

23rd November 2022 By gemawright

The theme, which is shared with Flame 2023 is ‘Rise Up.’ We are reminded as young people that we have been called to stand up again, together, to find fresh strength and to help others to rise up too. We must commit again to use the energy, gifts and talents that we have in new ways.

Feast of Christ the King

23rd November 2022 By gemawright

We came together to take part in a liturgical prayer to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King. The powerful Gospel account of Jesus’s crucifixion allowed us to declare the wonderful truth that Jesus is the King of Love.  We then ended our liturgical prayer singing ‘Give me joy in my heart, keep me praising.’

O King of Kings, you died so that we might have new life. Help us to share your love with each other and to be here for each other in the most difficult times.

Amen.

Our Lady of Lourdes Remembers

12th November 2022 By gemawright

This week our children have made us very proud. They have enjoyed learning all about the significance of Remembrance day, they have completed some amazing artwork and displays, have represented our school respectfully at the cenotaph and have led us in a special Remembrance Mass where we all had the opportunity to reflect and pray for all those who have died.

12th November 2022 By gemawright

A reminder that Monday 14th November is the beginning of Anti-Bullying Week. To launch Anti-Bullying Week, children are invited to come into school on Monday wearing odd socks to celebrate the fact that we are all unique and different.

All Souls Day

3rd November 2022 By gemawright

Three ways of praying for those who have passed away.

  1. Light a candle in your local church.
  2. Take a moment before a meal with your family. Each one can recall someone special.
  3. Before you go to sleep, take a moment to write a note of thanks in your journal to someone who meant a lot to you.

We pray for those who have died for this All Souls Day. We pray especially for all those in our parish and school community.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Jesuits Global.

All Saints Day

3rd November 2022 By gemawright

To celebrate the feast of All Saints, we remembered people who have lived their lives following Jesus and serving others. We reflected on how we, too, are called to be saints and how we can follow Jesus and serve others in our daily lives.

Queen Elizabeth II Condolences

9th September 2022 By gemawright

With Deepest Sympathy…

On behalf of all of the children, staff, governors, families and wider school community, we would like to take this opportunity to express how deeply saddened and moved we all are after hearing the news of the passing of our wonderful Queen- Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen was a lady that we all admired and respected for her loyal and committed service, she shone like a beacon to others and led the way as a role model to all. She was committed, compassionate and extended a warmth to others during her service as our Queen.

Whilst steadfast in her role and duties as a stateswoman, showing dignity and consistency, Queen Elizabeth was a kind-hearted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who has left a lasting impression upon her country, commonwealth and us all.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be admired and respected for generations to come for the true and inspiring lady that she was. Through our school values of love, learn, grow and inspire we aspire to let our light shine, just as our Queen has done during her 70 years of dedicated service, and will remember her with fondness, admiration and pride.
