Here are a few photos from our last two weeks of outdoor learning. The rain didn’t dampen our spirit!

To celebrate National Poetry day, Class 4 learned about different types of poems. We found out about how they are useful for creating atmosphere and making people think. We also watched a video about whether or not poems should rhyme. Finally, we talked about this year’s theme of Truth and wrote out own Truth Acrostic poems.

Class 4 had a great time learning outdoors today. We built Roman military camps using anything we could find on the field. We had to think about the best materials to use and how to protect our camp from the enemy.

Class 4 had, “The best day ever!” today, completing bush craft activities. We started off by looking at what would be the most important think we would need if we were stranded on a desert island and why? Then we made our own ‘lean to’ mini shelters before moving onto building larger shelters using tarpaulin in the afternoon. We also used some flint and steel to start our own fires. Finally, we toasted yummy marshmallows. We didn’t let the rain spoil our fun and certainly have a few budding Bear Grylls’ among us.
We all gathered in the hall to sing the Big Play songs we have been learning. We even learnt how to perform them using sign language! Well Done Everyone!!
